Daycare to open in Saginaw to serve special needs children

Posted: Updated:
SAGINAW (WJRT) - (04/22/14) -  A Saginaw mother was struggling to find a place to take her daughter, Emma Grace, for daycare.

So, she decided to open a place for Grace and so many others with special needs.

It will be the first of its kind in our area and so many children could benefit.

There are more than 1,000 special needs children in Saginaw County.

Rooms, services and educational plans will be specifically created for each child's needs.

"We don't have any child care services with people trained specifically for special needs, there actually aren't many services like that available anywhere. So this will be something that is not only new to the Saginaw area, but new to a large area," said Nicole Royer, executive director for A Place for Grace.

A Place for Grace is scheduled to open for the 2014-15 school year.
