Hemlock students get lesson on Tuskegee Airmen

Posted: Updated:
HEMLOCK (WJRT) - (04/29/14) - Students in Hemlock are getting a lesson on the World War II pilots known as the Tuskegee Airmen.

The Commemorative Air Force Red Tail Squadron is visiting the school district this week with an exhibit on the African-American squad.

Students watched the movie "Rise Above", which documents the story of the Tuskegee airmen and highlights the challenges the group faced.

The manager of the tour says students will be inspired by the story.

The exhibit will be in Hemlock through Thursday and then move to Saginaw's Thompson Middle School next week.

The public will be able to see it on Saturday at Harry Browne Airport in Buena Vista Township.
