His sense of humor helped him get through the most trying time of his life, but Staff Sergeant Travis Mills of Vassar couldn't hide his emotions Tuesday as he said goodbye to the doctors, therapists, and all the people who helped him on his road to recovery.
VASSAR (WJRT) - (05/01/14) - Even being a victim of crime can't break Travis Mills' positive spirit.

Mills, a Vassar native, lost portions of both legs and arms in an explosion during his third tour in Afghanistan.

Now, police in Maine say someone stole between $10,000 and $15,000 worth of tools overnight from the construction site of his smart home.

The home was being paid for by two foundations.

The contractor says construction crews only lost three hours of work time.

Police have not made any arrests.
