FLINT (WJRT) -
(05/06/14) - Another change to the landscape of Flint is on its way this summer.
Tuesday, the clay base of a statue of Bobby Crim was sent off to the foundry for bronzing.
The statue will be part of a new Crim Plaza in front of the Riverfront Banquet Center, which is near the starting line of the Crim Festival of Races.
"This statue is all about Flint, it's not about just Bobby. But it represents what he brought to the city some 37 years ago. And now this city's commitment to health and wellness and the future of it. He'll be on Saginaw St., downtown in this new Crim plaza, welcoming people from all over the world when they come and visit Flint," said Jerry Meyers, Crim CEO.
The statue and new Crim Plaza will be dedicated in August.
