Mother of man convicted in shooting death of MSP trooper pleads guilty to accessory charge

UNDATED (WJRT) - (05/07/14) - The mother of the man convicted of killing State Trooper Paul Butterfield, has pleaded guilty to an accessory charge.

Tammi Lynne Spofford is accused of helping her son, Eric Knysz, and his wife, Sarah, escape after the shooting of Butterfield in September.

Eric Knysz was found guilty in February and hanged himself last month in his prison cell.

Sarah Knysz is serving two to five years for being an accessory.

Spofford is set to be sentenced in June.
