GRAND BLANC TOWNSHIP (WJRT) - (05/07/14) - Jellybeans in Grand Blanc Township caught fire Wednesday night around 8:20 p.m., as fast moving storms rolled through the area.

Firefighters believe lightning struck the top of the roof and sparked the flames.

"This one here hit on top of the roof, obviously the wood was dry. It was dry enough it just took off and went," said Chief Jim Harmes, of the Grand Blanc Township Fire Department.

The fire spread quickly with the help of the wind. Firefighters on scene believe the building is a total loss.

Jellybeans is a used resale store in the 5400 block of Fenton Road. They are well known in the community for selling books, music, movies, and comics. "There's a lot of history in there, you know, worst part for me," said Josh Lafave, of Grand Blanc.

The store was closed at the time of the fire.
