Suicide prevention, awareness walk scheduled

Posted: Updated:
GOODRICH (WJRT) - (05/10/14) - It's a sobering statistic. A person dies by suicide every 14 minutes in the United States.

Experts also say one in seven high school students seriously consider suicide.

Next weekend, you have the chance to raise awareness about suicide and mental illness, and potentially make a positive impact.

The "Out of the Darkness Campus Walk" takes place next Saturday, May 17, at Goodrich High School.

You can register by clicking HERE.

Check-in time is from 9-10 a.m.

The walk at Goodrich High School is one of many happening across the country. They are put on by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. To learn more about the AFSP, click HERE.
