MSP Trooper Paul Butterfield added to National Law Enforcement Memorial

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WJRT) - (05/14/14) - Michigan State Police Trooper Paul Butterfield has been added to the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington, D.C.

Butterfield's name was added to the list of fallen officers on Tuesday.

Michigan State Police posted a photo of the monument on Facebook.

Butterfield was shot and killed during a traffic stop in Mason County in September.

His shooter, Eric Knysz was sentenced to life without parole. Knysz killed himself shortly after he was sentenced.

Knysz wife Sarah is serving time for being an accessory.
