Reward offered for help finding Flint mother who disappeared in 2009
FLINT (WJRT) -
(05/16/14) - A daughter's search to find her missing mother is taking another turn.
A reward is being offered to help find Elizabeth Land, a Flint mother of four, who disappeared in 2009.
Katie Thomas has spent the last five years not knowing where her mother is, or if she is OK. Now, she's asking for your help finding her mom.
Elizabeth Land disappeared in February 2009. Flint Police say she was last seen heading to a bar on Chevrolet Avenue in Flint.
Police say land is 5'3, 140 pounds, with red hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a pink short-sleeve shirt, blue jeans and light blue jacket.
Flint Police suspect foul play.
Land's daughter, Katie, was 11 at the time. Since then, she has dreamed of her mother walking through the front door.
That hasn't happened. Instead, her mom has missed watching her little girl grow up.
"She already missed me turning 16, and I don't know if she is going to see me turn 18, I don't if she is going to see me graduate from high school or go to college, or what's after college. I really need to know what happened to my mother," she said.
Crime Stoppers if offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that helps find Land. Call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP if you have any information.
Michigan State Police is hosting a "Missing in Michigan" event Saturday, at Harding Mott at UM-Flint, to highlight cases like this. It starts at 1 p.m.
