Rivers receding following heavy rain

MID-MICHIGAN (WJRT) - (05/17/14) - Saturday morning started with flood warnings in several Mid-Michigan counties.

That includes the Saginaw River in Saginaw.

Flood stage is 17 feet. At 9 a.m. Saturday, it had reached 17.1 feet and is expected to start going down soon.

The Cass River at Frankenmuth has already started to recede. It reached 17.6 feet Friday night.

As of 9:45 a.m. Saturday, it had dropped to 16.12 feet, according to the National Weather Service.

In addition, the Kearsley Creek near Davison, the Swartz Creek near Flint, the Flint River in Flint, the Thread Creek near Flint, the Rifle river near Sterling, the Tittabawassee River at Midland, and the Shiawassee River at Owosso are all receding.
