FLINT (WJRT) - (05/17/14) - The families of dozens of missing persons from across Michigan gathered in Flint Saturday afternoon for the fourth annual "Missing in Michigan," an event hosted by the Michigan State Police.

The event is meant to update information and gather DNA samples from family members that may shed new light on cold cases.

MSP Trooper Sarah Krebs takes this work personally.

"The first couple cases that I solved I ended up meeting the families and finding out just how much they went through," Krebs said.

Through new leads and connections discovered at "Missing in Michigan" events, 32 missing persons cases have been solved.

"Missing in Michigan" also brings together the families of the missing so they can share stories and build a support network.

Nikki Hollis' aunt went missing in 1990. "It's good for coping, everybody talks about how they deal with it," Hollis said.

Tanya Zuvers' three sons went missing four years ago.

"We all have someone we love and care about missing, I have met people I consider dear friends now that we are forever joined," she said.
