MT. MORRIS TOWNSHIP (WJRT) - (05/21/14) - Beecher High School honored their college-bound students, Wednesday, with a first annual College Decision Day.

Seniors signed their commitments to various colleges and universities.

The school hoped to highlight the importance of success in the classroom, styling the event after the NCAA National Signing Day.

"It was hard for me, but I made it this far, so it feels good to even been on stage getting this stuff, being accepted into a college," said Amber Tiggs, who is going to Mott Community College.

"It's a really good feeling. I feel so accomplished, and it's a really good feeling," said Tiffany Anthony, who is going to UM-Flint.

Beecher High School hopes the event inspires younger students to get a college education.
