Sagianw County - (05/21/14) - A man accused of selling and renting homes he did not rightfully own faced a Saginaw County judge Wednesday for his preliminary hearing.

Investigators say Todd Riggins, 36, would look for property that had been abandoned and draw up a quit claim deed. Police believe he forged the signature of the property owner, got it notarized by a notary public who didn't exist, and filed the deed.

Police say quit claim deeds do not involve any money.

Judge Clark heard testimony from witnesses Wednesday. They adjourned until a later date which is yet to be scheduled.
