Contaminated Beef Sold At Gordon Foods Marketplace in Michigan

MICHIGAN (WJRT) - (05/22/14) - Federal officials have released a partial list of grocers that may have sold bad ground beef - linked to linked to a Detroit packing company.

Among the retailers is Gordon Food Service Marketplace.

The US Department of Agriculture says nearly 2 million pounds of ground beef has been recalled by a Wolverine Packing Company because it could be contaminated with a potentially deadly strain of e-coli bacteria.

So far, 11 people in four states have become sick from eating the ground beef.

The USDA is now asking customers who recently bought ground beef from Gordon stores to check the label.

If you see the code - EST 257-4B and a production date between March 31 and April 18 of this year, you should return it to the store immediately.
