(05/23/14) - Great Lakes National Cemetery is honoring military members buried at the cemetery.
Friday, volunteers placed American flags at over 21,000 grave sites.
Volunteers started around 5:30 p.m. and were done by 7 p.m.
They do it every Memorial Day to honor military vets.
Great Lakes National Cemetery is hosting a memorial service on Sunday at 1 p.m.
They expect 4,000 - 6,0000 people to pay final respects.
