ABC12/EPIC-MRA asks voters about same sex marriage

Posted: Updated:
MICHIGAN (WJRT) - (05/28/14) - It appears the issue of gay marriage continues to divide Michigan voters.

Earlier this year, a federal judge overturned a ban on same sex marriage in the state.

Right now, that ruling is on hold as appeals continue.

Our exclusive ABC12/EPIC-MRA poll asked voters how they would vote if a ballot proposal would come up in the future allowing same sex marriage.

The results were pretty even, with 47 percent saying they would support the measure and 46 percent say they would vote no.

We asked the same question last year, before the judge's ruling.

A year ago, 55 percent said they would support a same sex marriage proposal, while 41 percent were opposed.
