Posted: Updated:
MID-MICHIGAN (WJRT) - (05/30/14) - An amendment aimed at distributing additional federal money to help pay for police in Mid-Michigan has been voted down.

Congressman Dan Kildee introduced the amendment, Thursday, to a congressional committee.

The bill would have brought $15 million for local law enforcement partnerships in cities like Flint and Saginaw.

During the operations, the ATF would work with police, prosecutors and other community leaders to coordinate intelligence operations and offer personnel on the street to help reduce crime.
