Volunteers clean up along Saginaw River

Posted: Updated:
SAGINAW (WJRT) - (05/30/14) - It's a spring clean up day along the Saginaw River in the city of Saginaw.

Volunteers from several companies and groups are at a few locations along the Saginaw River, picking up garbage and removing brush.

The project is put together by the Downtown Development Authority.

The goal is to take care of the riverfront, which might be neglected because of government budget cuts.

Some of the companies providing volunteers are Dow Chemical, AT&T, and Spence Brothers.

The workers will be out all day along the river.
