Flint man who helps clean up city robbed of equipment

Posted: Updated:
(06/01/14) - A Flint man, who takes care of blighted property, was robbed of  the equipment he used to get the job done.

Last year, we profiled Flint resident Clarence Campbell. He mows vacant property in Flint.

The equipment he used was donated to him. Now that equipment is gone.

Campbell says his two push lawn mowers and his weed trimmer were stolen sometime over the weekend from his home.
He says the equipment is worth around $600.

The equipment is worth a lot more to the community, because without it he can't clean up the the city he loves, which is all he wants to do.

"It's terrible what has happened in the city, and I just want to do my part, I feel like it will get replaced and I will be able to continue my work," Campbell said.

Campbell will file a police report on Monday.

There is an active "go fund me" effort online with a goal of raising $600.

Originally, that was for the equipment, but now that money can be used for gas or whatever else he might need to continue his effort.
