FLINT (WJRT) -
(06/02/14) - Workers from several Sherwin Williams stores across the area spent the day painting the bedrooms and a children's playroom at The Shelter of Flint.
The Shelter moved into their new location on Cedar Street in October, but didn't get a chance to paint before the move.
Sherwin Williams workers say they are happy to take care of it for them.
"It feels good to give back to the community, I mean, we have several places in the area that can't afford it. And it makes us feel good to come out here and do what we can," said Joe Sheetz, of Sherwin Williams.
"To give up, on a sunny day like this when they could be outside working. And in our building we actually don't have air conditioning here, so they're toasty warm on the second floor of our building too. So we can't do what we do without the community support, and this is just another way that our community is reaching out and supporting what we do," said Liz Ruediger, of the Shelter of Flint.
Great Lakes Contracting also sent out a crew after hearing about what Sherwin Williams was doing.
