Linden Community Schools awarded HEARTSafe School designation

LINDEN (WJRT) - (06/04/14) - A Mid-Michigan School district is the first of its kind in our area to win a new HEARTSafe School designation.

It's awarded to schools to prepare for sudden cardiac emergencies through planning, training and AED's.

The Linden Community received the honor Wednesday night. It is one of only six getting the award in the state.

The first 3 to 5 minutes is critical for increasing the chance for survival should a staffer or student have a problem, according to Dr. Matthew Davis, chief medical executive with the Michigan Departments of Community Health (MDCH).
