DAVISON TOWNSHIP (WJRT) - (06/07/14) - Davison Township celebrated the grand opening of the Robert Williams Nature and Historical Learning Center, Saturday.

Robert Williams donated 102 acres to the township two years ago. The idea was to build a nature preserve and museum geared toward Davison Community Schools.

The new site has an art museum, a history museum, a limestone trail and much more to enjoy, all centered around the Davison community and Davison schools.

Randall Stewart, Davison Township Zoning and Planning Administrator, said this is much more than expected, but even more is to come.

"This is just the beginning of many projects," Stewart said. "We've gotten a grant from the state of Michigan for $300,000 and we are adding more trails to walk on and an educational building in the woods for the kids. It's a good thing for people to come and see. This is a great opportunity to come to Davison Township to see what we are about."
