MID-MICHIGAN (WJRT) -
(06/09/14) - Pack your patience and be prepared for a detour.
ABC12's Rebecca Trylch took us along for the ride through several Mid-Michigan road projects.
Right now, in the Tri-Cities region, there are three construction projects that could really slow you down.
There's one at the US-10/M-47 interchange, another one US-10 over Patrick Road and third one in the city of Midland.
Along M-47, at the US-10 interchanges, some of the ramps there are closed and will force you to take a detour.
We're were on northbound M-47 right now and wanted to go westbound onto US-10 - but we couldn't. The detour right now is to take the eastbound US-10 exit. From there, take the Garfield Road exit and turn around and get right back on US-10 westbound.
This project lasts until November.
Another project MDOT is working on right now is US-10 over Patrick Road. You will not have to take a detour on this project, but you will have to slow down. The law is that you have to drive 45 miles per hour where workers are present.
MDOT is also working on a new roundabout project in the city of Midland at Business 10 and Patrick Road. That means you're going to have to take Bay City Road exit off of US-10. At the end of the ramp, turn left onto Bay City Road before making a right onto Saginaw Road.
You'll then need to make a left on Discovery Way, followed by a right on Washington, ending the detour around that project.
This project is going on through July, but the detours they've posted this week should only last until June 18.
