(06/15/14) - A man is behind bars and a business is destroyed after a series of events in Huron County.

The Huron County Sheriff's office says it all started at a bar and grill in the 8700 block of Pearson Road in Port Austin Township. The man became irate and was eventually pushed out of the bar. Those in the bar locked the doors to keep the man out, so he broke a window.

Once he got back inside, he assaulted a 22-year-old man several times. When others tried to step in and stop him, he swung a golf club at them.

Eventually, bystanders got the man back outside, but it didn't end there. The man then drove his truck into the bar, pushing the wall about six feet. He then drove off, running over signs and trees.

Police eventually caught up with him and arrested him on several charges - second offense operating under the influence of alcohol, second offense driving while license suspended and fleeing and eluding, felonious assault and assault and destruction of property.

The man he assaulted was taken to the hospital.
