MIDLAND (WJRT) - (06/16/14) - A Midland man died following an accident during a dirt bike race, Saturday night.

The crash happened at the Midland County Fair Grounds.

Twenty-three-year-old Benjamin Myers died when he was involved in an accident with two other bikes, in a sport drivers say can certainly be dangerous.

The accident happened just before 11 Saturday night.

It was the last race in the event, put on by the Polka Dots Motorcycle Club at the fairgrounds.

The two other dirt bike drivers involved in the accident were not hurt.

Because this was a sanctioned motorcycle event, an ambulance was at the fairgrounds and took Myers to the hospital, where he died.

Police were not called to the fairgrounds.
