Posted: Updated:
SAGINAW (WJRT) - (06/19/14) - Saginaw Valley State University is getting a financial boost to expand learning in science, technology, engineering and math.

The Midland-based Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow Foundation awarded the school a $5 million grant to increase STEM learning.

It's the largest single private gift SVSU has ever received.

The funds will be used to establish a STEM Scholar Network at SVSU.

The grant will support summer camps for middle school and high school students, and sponsor research projects by SVSU students.
