FLINT (WJRT) -
(06/20/14) - The Back to the Bricks Promotional Tour spun out of Flint early Friday morning.
It's a rowdy road trip, now in its fifth year.
"We're going to have a rolling party! It's shaping up to be the biggest and by far the best tour we've had so far," said Al Hatch, tour chairman.
More than 150 cars, and their owners, plan to beat the drum and encourage people to visit the Vehicle City in August for the tenth annual Back to the Bricks Car Cruise weekend.
"We've got all of our promotional materials that we'll be passing out in each city and we want you to come to Flint and see what we're all about, because Back to the Bricks has been named as one of the top 20 auto venues in North America," Hatch said.
This year's six-day tour travels around the region known as "Michiana."
"Jackson today and then Auburn-Indiana, Elkhart on Sunday, Battle Creek on Monday, and then Lansing on Tuesday," Hatch said.
It's Rhonda Rau's fourth time on the tour with her GTO. She admits she's been known to put the pedal to the metal.
"As long as there aren't any cops around, I can tell, I like to speed a little," Rau said.
As you might have guessed, there are also plenty of fast cars making their cruise debut.
