HELL, Mich. (WJRT) -
(06/20/14) - The 2014 Back to the Bricks Promotional tour kicked of with a few drivers getting into a little mischief.
The Back to the Bricks cruisers joined the ghouls and goblins in Hell, Michigan - just south west of Pickney in Livingston County - to spread the word about the car cruise.
In a spot that's know for being so hot, we found a few cool things. There's water in Hell and even ice cream, but, "We don't offer toppings for our ice cream, it's droppings, and ghost poop and buttersnot," John Colone, business owner.
How about sending your letters from Hell, or even tying the knot?
"We did about 71 weddings in our chapel last year. Weddings that start in hell have no where to go but up," Colone said.
In all seriousness, organizers say this is what the tour is all about - getting people to explore parts of the state they probably would not visit.
"Tourism is so important to our state and little communities like our own. Just to have folks here. Even if they don't buy anything, they know where we are," Colone said.
They're spreading the word about the big event on the bricks of downtown Flint this summer - even if they have to make a trip to Hell to do so.
"It's an interesting stop to stay we went through Hell to get there. Hopefully we'll be able to get out," said Steve Casner, of Back to the Bricks.
