SAGINAW (WJRT) - (06/21/14) - Ojibway Island was packed Saturday for one of Saginaw's biggest yearly events - the KCQ Country Music Fest.

The morning kicked off with a car show at 9 a.m. Michigan native Frankie Ballard hit the stage at 1:00 p.m., then Country Superstars Montgomery Gentry took over at 3:30 p.m.

Some of the more than 100,000 estimated fans we talked to said the afternoon was quite the experience. The Saginaw County Sheriff's Department says the concert exceeded last year's crowd of 108,000 people.

Law enforcement was in full swing for the country fest as well, making for another fun and safe year. There was only one alcohol related arrest. Twelve people were treated for heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
