Vandals damage downtown Midland sculptures

Posted: Updated:
(06/23/14) - Midland Police and the Midland Downtown Development Authority hope you can help find whoever vandalized two sculptures.

They're part of the 2014 Pondering Downtown Sculpture Series.

They were supposed to be auctioned off at the end of the summer to help fund next year's project.

In one case, a loon and her babies were stolen from a sculpture called "Loon Magic on Golden Pond". It was positioned near the H Hotel. It's believed it was stolen between Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon June 21 and 22.

On the other, a sailboat was swiped from the "Below the Surface" sculpture near Main and McDonald Streets. It's believed that damaged was done on June 17 or 18.

Call police at 989-839-4618 if you know anything about the stolen items.

Eleven sculptures are part of the 2014 Pondering Downtown Sculpture Series.
