LANSING (WJRT) - (06/24/14) - Robotics is a popular after-school activity for many students around the state and Tuesday, six high-ranking teams were in Lansing as Gov. Snyder presented a big grant in support of the extra-curricular activity.

The bill he signed provides $2.2 million to programs across the state, giving them an opportunity to expand.

One of the teams on hand was the state champs from Carmen-Ainsworth in Flint Township.

"It gives them hands on experience. Not every body is cut out to be an athlete. Not everybody is cut out to be a four year college bound student. This will give them the opportunity to find out what they truly love," said the team's head coach, Ellen Crain.
