Gov. Snyder signed legislation to combat the illegal production of methamphetamine

Posted: Updated:
MICHIGAN (WJRT) - (06/26/14) - Gov. Rick Snyder signed nine public safety bills Thursday, including a bill designed to combat the illegal production of methamphetamine.

A previous bill put restrictions on the amount of pseudoephedrine, an ingredient used in meth, that someone can buy at one store. This new bill takes it one step further and will keep people from buying small amounts of the meth ingredients from several stores.

A violation of the law could mean up to five years in prison and or a fine of up $5,000.
