Police look for person who left young dog to die inside garbage bag

Posted: Updated:
FLINT (WJRT) - (06/30/14) - Police are working to find whoever left a young dog to die inside of a plastic garbage bag.

Two joggers heading down Bluff Street on the campus of Kettering University in Flint saw something moving inside of the bag early Sunday morning.

When they came up to the bag, they saw hind legs sticking out of the plastic.

They ripped it open to find a dog struggling to survive.

The dog was rushed to the Bristol Road Animal Hospital, but it was too late. The dog was basically brain dead and had to be euthanized.

Now, police are working to find whoever dumped the dog using surveillance video.

The video feed showed someone getting out of a conversion van early Sunday morning, dumping the dog and then leaving.

The van is described as a conversion van with two-tone paint. Either white, gray or tan on the top and a darker paint on the lower body.

The van also has an extended roof.

If you have any information on this, you are asked to call Flint Police.
