Michigan residents urging lawmakers for more gun regulations

LANSING (WJRT) - (07/01/14) - Michigan residents are asking the state legislature to push for more common sense gun regulations.

ABC12 was there as more than 14,000 postcards were turned in, Tuesday, at the Capitol, urging Gov. Rick Snyder to take action to reduce gun violence.

Each postcard says "Not One More", and is inspired by a grieving father who wanted people to step up and pledge to support elected officials who do something about it.

Advocates say one example is to pass a bill that's been sitting stagnant since May of last year to require background checks.

The group says they support the second amendment, but want laws to crackdown on unnecessary loop holes.
