Homeless Flint children take photos for 'Pictures of Hope' project

FLINT (WJRT) -  (07/08/14) - If you could wish for anything, what would it be?

What if you had nothing? Not even a home.

That's the reality for the children living at the Shelter of Flint.

Tuesday, they were given a camera and a shot at making their dreams come true.

Flint is among 14 cities across the country selected for Chevrolet's project "Pictures of Hope."

Award winning photojournalist Linda Solomon was at the Shelter of Flint asking homeless children to make a wish, take a picture and see what develops.

Their heartfelt wishes might surprise you and will give us all a chance to see life through a different lens.

Their pictures will be turned into holiday cards and thanks to Chevy and Patsy Lou Chevrolet, 100 percent of the proceeds will benefit the women, children and programs that help make some of these dreams, like having a real house, come true.

You'll be hearing more about how to purchase these beautiful cards in the coming months as the children become photojournalists and bring us all 'pictures of hope.'
