Police in Saginaw arrest murder suspect, other still at large

Posted: Updated:
(07/09/14) - The Major Crimes Unit in Saginaw arrested one of two people wanted for a weekend murder.

Saginaw Police, together with Michigan State Police, arrested Devunaire Sims around 6 p.m. Tuesday. Wednesday, a judge formally charged him with open murder.

Police say he was found at the Gratiot View Motel in Thomas Township.

Sims and Aaron Turner are suspected in the shooting death of Damon Ratcliff. He was shot multiple times Saturday night in the area of North Porter and Hayes.

"Our Major Crimes Unit had been investigating leads for the last couple days, and a couple of those leads really worked out well for us. When people step up and come forward with solid information, it makes keeping the streets safe an easier task," said Saginaw Police Sgt. Reggie Williams.

Williams says Turner should be considered armed and dangerous. Call 911 if you see him.

Tips can be called into Crime Stoppers at 1-800-422-JAIL.
