Flint chapter of NAACP asks Gov. Snyder to change State Police chase policy

Posted: Updated:
FLINT (WJRT) -  (07/09/14) - The Flint Chapter of the NAACP has sent a letter to Gov. Snyder asking him to change to State Police chase policy.

The letter comes after a woman died in Flint when the car she was riding in was hit by a state police cruiser chasing some suspects.

"We feel the policy with high speed chases going through neighborhoods and people getting killed is atrocious. We want them to revisit that. Flint Police don't do it. The Sheriff's Department doesn't do it. Only the State Police," said Frances Gilcreast, president of the Flint chapter of the NAACP.

The NAACP says the governor has not responded yet to the letter.
