Posted: Updated:
(07/11/14) - A tight knit local community is coming together for a night of healing after losing seven of their neighbors. They lost their friends to cancer, suicide and even a tragic accident, all within the last 12 months in Swartz Creek.

They are coming together in two days to help heal that pain.

ABC12 news talked to Tina Plumb, Thursday afternoon. She is organizing a "town meeting" in Swartz Creek on Saturday.

It will take place at the Performing Arts Center in Swartz Creek starting at 7 p.m.

There will be speakers at the event to help people deal with their pain.

"I just want it to be a positive healing type of time where we can all come together and know we are all feeling the same pain," Plumb said.

Plumb says the group will light seven lanterns for each person who passed away, along with an eighth lantern to represent others who have died in their community.

Plumb says six of the seven people who died are connected to the school district.

According to the Facebook page for the event, the following people are being remembered: John Culver, Brendon Fitch, Chris Carney, Paul Bueche, Alexander Mann, Katie Paul  and Dylan Gross.
