FLINT (WJRT) -
(07/21/14) - The Flint Schools food service program has been outsourced to Sodexo Magic.
Monday, the company is holding a job fair and open house at the University of Michigan-Flint White Building.
It's a partnership with French-based Sodexo and Lansing native Earvin Magic Johnson.
Former Flint school food service workers are invited to apply for openings with Sodexo Magic.
"This gives them an opportunity to meet Sodexo Magic and gives us an opportunity to meet them. One of the things we want to make sure we do is utilize the talent that already exists in the district," said Jarvis Richardson, Sodexo Magic.
"I thought this was really nice, what they were doing. They're not leaving anyone out in the cold or anything," said Susan Gowdy, who is applying for a job.
A few jobs may be available for those who did not work for the school district.
The job fair runs until 2 p.m. and resumes from 5-7 p.m.
