MSHDA executive director resigns after billing the state for meals, travel

MICHIGAN (WJRT) - (08/08/14) - The head of Michigan's housing agency is stepping down after billing the state for expensive meals and travel.

Michigan State Housing Development Authority executive director Scott Woosley has resigned.

Woosley was in Saginaw, Monday, to discuss Saginaw's progress in knocking down abandoned homes.

He is stepping down after it was revealed Woosley sought reimbursements for staying in hotels that cost $400 to $500 a night and traveling in a stretch limousine.

The spending was uncovered by the Michigan Democratic Party in a records request.
