FENTON (WJRT) - (08/21/14) - A Mid-Michigan teen was honored Thursday in his hometown after a tragic accident over the weekend took his life.

Brady Morton's body was pulled from the St. Clair River Wednesday afternoon.

The 19-year-old from Fenton was with a group of about 40 people floating down the river, Sunday, when he left his raft to swim.

His friends say he never came back up.

Thursday, a candlelight vigil was held for him at 8:30 p.m. It was at Silver Lake Park Beach in Fenton, one of Moton's favorite places according to his friends.

"When I stepped out onto the beach and I saw all of the people on the hill, it was, it was overwhelming. I was so happy the way that it turned out and I know Brady was looking down and watching the whole thing and it was just beautiful," said Jake Rathbun, a friend of Morton's, about the vigil.
