VAN BUREN TOWNSHIP, Mich., Sept. 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Visteon Corporation (NYSE: VC) will be highly involved in the 21st World Congress on Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) in Detroit, which brings an increased level of anticipation since it is taking place in the Motor City.
"Visteon appreciates the opportunity the ITS World Congress offers the state of Michigan and the automotive industry, and we are actively supporting this world-class event to make it the most successful one yet," said Tim Leuliette, president and CEO of Visteon. Visteon is involved in three main areas of the event: panel sessions, the technology showcase and exhibitions.
Sessions: The ITS World Congress at Cobo Center includes a wide range of discussions on a variety of topics. Types of panels include chief technical officer plenary sessions, special interest sessions and technical sessions. The following list details the sessions with Visteon representatives, including one with Tim Leuliette, a World Congress Honorary Committee member.
Technology Showcase: Located on Belle Isle in Detroit, the technology showcase features demonstrations promoting the latest individual technologies and highlights the growing integration of intelligent transportation systems. Visteon will present its vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) technology through a ride-and-drive in which vehicle occupants will experience a fully integrated cockpit human machine interaction (HMI) under three scenarios: obstructed stopped vehicle ahead warning, emergency electronic brake light warning, and slippery road condition ahead warning.
Exhibit: Inside Cobo Center at Booth 801, Visteon will present technologies that focus on supporting vehicle connectivity. The exhibit will include a sampling of production and near-term solutions in telematics, audio and infotainment. Additionally, a number of cockpit concepts will be on display, including one designed for an autonomous vehicle.
