FLINT, Mich. (WJRT) -(07/14/2020)-The grand opening of a business is a special day for small business owners.

In less than a year, Hannah Merillat’s 3 Diamonds Bridal in Sanford has already had 3.

The first one was last December.

“Had this vision for here for here and we just kind of made it happen,” said owner Hannah Merillat.

Only to close a few months later due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The second reopening, took place in May.

“The day of the flood was our first day reopening. We had 3 brides booked that day.” she said.

More than 8 feet of water flowed into the church turned bridal shop-- causing thousands of dollars in damage.

"I broke down a little bit, it was just a mess down there,"

Merillat now hopes 3rd times the charm.

“We just reopened this past Saturday, the 11th and it was really exciting. We were so glad to be reopening,” she said.

Merillat said she is grateful to be back doing what she loves.

“I get to help girls feel beautiful and I just love that part of it. And it was so nice to be able to do that again. Especially when everybody is kind of low right now from COVID and it’s been a really crazy year and it’s just nice to have some happiness for a little while,” she said.
