Sunshine and a light southerly wind moved temperatures easily into the 80s Tuesday afternoon.  The humidity was up a little bit from Monday's levels, but is was still a very nice mid-summertime day across Mid-Michigan.  With mostly fair skies for the overnight period, temperatures will likely settle into the middle 60s early Wednesday morning.  Our "normal" low temperature is about 59 or 60-degrees.

Wednesday will feature a little more warmth, a little more humidity, a little more cloud cover, and, perhaps, a few showers in the afternoon.  The day will begin quietly, with mostly sunny skies and light southerly breezes.  By midday, temperatures will already be moving through the lower 80s.  Clouds will billow up during the afternoon as high temperatures push to near 90-degrees.  A few showers may develop during the afternoon, but most of us will stay dry.  The best chance for a little bit of rain will be across the northern parts of the ABC12 viewing area.

There will be a better chance for rain across the entire area for Wednesday night and early Thursday.  Some rumbles of thunder will be a possibility, and a few brief downpours can’t be ruled out.  Overall, however, the rains we see should be beneficial with amounts around a half-inch in some areas.  By Thursday afternoon the rain will be moving out and the sun will be making a return.  This should set the stage for a bright, sunshiny Friday. - JR
