FRANKENMUTH, Mich. (WJRT) - (6/2/2021) - A U.S. Postal Service mail truck caught fire after a crash in Saginaw County on Wednesday afternoon.

It happened in Frankenmuth on Townline Road east of Gera Road.

Frankenmuth police say a 21-year-old Bridgeport woman was behind the wheel when she ran off the road and struck a tree. The vehicle caught fire upon impact.

The woman was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators have not said how many packages and pieces of mail were destroyed in the fire. Police will continue investigating the crash.
