JR’s Friday Evening Weather Report
Temperatures once again cruised through the 80s Friday, with a few spots topping the 90-degree mark. Bright sunshine in the morning gave way to some clouds and a few thunderstorms during the afternoon. A few of the storms even produced some gusty winds. As has been the case for the better part of the week, parts of Mid-Michigan saw a brief, heavy downpour, while most of us stayed dry. The showers will fade away this evening, leaving us with partly cloudy skies for the overnight period.
As a cool front drifts across the state Saturday, we will have another chance of seeing some much-needed rain. Showers and some thundershowers will be scattered across the landscape, but it won’t be a day-long rain. We will have partly sunny conditions at times, and high temperatures will range from the upper 70s – north, to the middle 80s – south. There will still be a good bit of humidity hanging in the air too. Most of us will be able to get our activities in, we may just have to dodge a few drops for a little while.
Behind Saturday’s front, we will be getting into more comfortable air. With partly sunny skies Sunday, highs will again move into the 80s for most of the ABC12 viewing area. The temperature / humidity combination, however, will be a lot better. High temperatures will drop back a little bit for the first part of next week. On ABC12 News, we will have a look at our chances for more rain next week. - JR
