ST. JOHNS, Mich. (WJRT) - With more than 300 registered participants in this year’s Back to the Bricks Promo Tour, there are plenty of favorite vehicles to choose from.

One unique car has married the old with the new. The tour has classic cars, modern cars and one class that combines the best of both worlds: the rest-mods.

Jim Jensen from Lake Orion brought his standout yellow convertible along on the tour.

“There are very few 1941 Pontiacs on the road. Especially convertibles,” he said.

Jensen bought his pride and joy from a friend 20 years ago. While the body is mostly stock, he has installed a lot of Camaro parts for the sub-frame, running gear and rear end. The engine is a 355 horsepower Chevrolet V8.

“I get a lot of good comments about it,” Jensen said. “I’ve met two or three other people that were building one. One fellow happened to be from Alabama.”

He said car is pretty rare, especially since it’s a convertible, and it even has air conditioning. But that wasn’t working during Wednesday’s hot and humid weather.
