Michael Nafso is Chaldean American, born and raised in the Metro Detroit area. He received a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan (Go Blue!) and comes from a family of educators. He taught high school English essay writing and literature for one year, but he always had an itch for broadcast.
His career began in sports as a summer intern at the Big Ten Network in Chicago. From there, he worked as a sports associate producer at WDIV in Detroit before moving back to the "Windy City" for a freelance opportunity with the Big Ten Network. He then landed an opportunity to come home and work with Fox Sports Detroit. He began as a production assistant and was later given an opportunity as a digital host on "The 313." During his two years at Fox Sports Detroit, he gained experience shooting, editing and producing high school features on "Earning The Letter." One of those episodes was nominated for an Emmy in 2018.
When he's not working, you can find Michael spending time with his family, playing sports like soccer and basketball, or playing NHL on his Playstation.
