MID-MICHIGAN (WJRT) (8/9/2018) - With warm and partly cloudy weather ahead this weekend, swimmers will be flocking to area beaches to cool off.

But two beaches on Saginaw Bay won't be available.

The Bay County Health Department closed Brissette Beach in Kawkawlin Township on Thursday after routine testing showed high bacteria levels.

This is the second time the beach closed this year. It closed for one day on May 30 when bacteria levels were high again.

Singing Bridge Beach in Arenac County's Whitney Township also remains closed due to high bacteria levels. It closed 44 days ago on June 26 and has not reopened yet.

Of the 12 other beaches closed in Michigan, five are located in Oakland County and one is located in St. Clair County. See "Related Links" on the right side of this story for the full list.

All beaches will reopen when bacteria levels comply with the state's standards.
