ISABELLA COUNTY (WJRT) - (3/8/2018) - The Central Michigan University student accused of killing his parents in his dorm room is now in jail.

James Davis Jr. was booked into the Isabella County Jail on Wednesday afternoon.

The 19-year-old had been in the hospital recovering from hypothermia and the effects of a drug overdose since he was captured just after midnight on Saturday.

Police say Davis shot and killed Diva and James Davis Sr. Friday morning inside his dorm on the fourth floor of Campbell Hall in the Towers residence hall complex.

According to investigators, he used a gun registered to his dad. Davis Sr. was a part-time police officer in Illinois. Police have not said whether the gun was a service weapon.

Davis was arrested early Saturday morning after a 16-hour manhunt. He's charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of felony firearms.

Bond for Davis has been set at $1.125 million.
